Mike Krol is an Art Director, designer, musician, and tragic Midwesterner based in Los Angeles, California. His work is fastidious, uncompromising, and a strikingly correct amount of ugly. Throughout his career, he has leaned deep into subcultural aesthetics, including but not limited to 60’s British mod, roadside Americana, 1977 punk, and pre-digital typographic stylings.

Mike received his BFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts in New York City. He has held roles in boutique design studios, ad agencies, and cultural institutions across America. During the time in which he cared about awards, Mike was named an ADC Young Gun by the Art Directors Club and has been recognized by the AIGA, Print Magazine, Graphis, Communication Arts, HOW Design, The One Show, STEP Inside Design Magazine, GD USA, and the Type Directors Club.

When he’s not at a computer or on tour, Mike can be found perusing the picture sleeve 45s in his favorite record shops, eating a burger, or hanging out with his wife Allison (who wrote this) and their mini goldendoodle named Mooney.

Mike’s music can be found via Merge Records.
